Mama Hood Joys of 4 Boyz: Simply Distracted

One common theme with our 8 yr old right now is he got too distracted to tell me where he was going. Therefore I run around aimlessly looking for my boy and he isn't in all the usual places. He got distracted. Isn't this so true? God wanted to know where we were going but we/I got distracted. He couldn't find us in the usual places that we once connected. We have become distracted.

Two nights ago it was dark out, I thought that's odd Christian knows to come home before this. Looked at my phone text from neighbors to send their boy home but I was just going to text them to send my boy home. Then answered the door, we both thought our kids were at each other's houses so call the other neighbor same thing. Now this is an all out search for 3 boys who got distracted. It appeared nice for them they found friend and started playing not realizing the panic of parents searching for them since it turns dark quickly nowadays, they were utterly plain old distracted not realizing the consequences before them.

The distractions don't appear unfriendly or black or no blinking red lights, But it certainly would be cool though right- more explicit directions, blaring horns, warning signs with blinking lights! NOPE- Distractions come in disguise- fun, light, alluring, beautiful, just a short cut, discounted, but in the end we loose sight of where we began, our roots, our foundations, the simplicity of Gods grace and mercy, and we wonder how we got to where we are today. Simply distracted.

I believe today I needed to hear this and today I choose to focus on the One who can help us & definitely me 🙋 with those distractions.

I was been running on a theme this week - It is well and found a song by Bethel Music. As I reflected on this song call "It is Well", the simplicity of knowing God is still in charge radiates, he still wants to know where the heck we are going, and he wants to be updated on where we are going so he doesn't have to search for us and most of he wants to go with us so we don't get lost or Distracted!
